Yep - exactly the same. I wish I had her social skills. I'm not awkward, just way less polished than her. She can't hardly say no though and I can. Sometimes while laughing in someone's face if they earned it by being a miscreant. We compliment each other nicely.My wife on the other hand is a social butterfly. Literally becomes best friends with somebody she's just met in a new social environment. But she's only of those people who can talk to anybody about anything. And then somehow they'll figure out they went to elementary school together, or that their mee-maws went to church together, or some other mutual thing. It never fails and it could be literally anywhere that this happens
I have no problem meeting people and talking to people - mostly at dove fields, boat ramps and bait/tackle/gun store type places. I also often meet people I interact with on discussion forums.
Quite a different scene than the wife who spends most of her time in academia.
