So I have bedded a few rifles with decent results as an ameture. I've used glass resin, and some 2000lb epoxy. I normally use car wax for releasing agent.
I tried the miles gilbert bedrock kit. I was less than impressed. Everything went together well enough. I was skeptical when it appeared that the releasing agent evaporated, even after coating the parts twice. Ita also soaked into the stock, which when the parts did get separated, Around the edges the bedding stuck to the metal and released from the wood.
Now 3 days after it has set the bedding material is a little rubbery. Not what I would consider rock.
The oil finish did blend the releasing agent staining.
Just figure I would post my results in case anyone was looking to do a bedding job.
