Military exchange pulled 10+ round mags

Someone on here said they would not even sell them any more I think this is being done on a local store manager level.

Robins BX, Sunday. Around 1120-1130
That was me. The manager was literally pulling them off the shelf... even had her kids helping clear them out. I asked if I could grab a few before they were thrown out and was told that items holding more than 10rds will not be sold in the exchanges anymore. I haven’t been back yet. I’ll be onbase tomorrow and i’ll see if they removed all the rifles and handguns that hold more than 10 rounds too.

The fax # for the AAFES Board of Directors is (214) 465-2702. The manager at Robins AFB BX sounded real nervous today when I informed him that I would be stopping by tomorrow to serve a FOIA Request on both him and the base commander. I'm interested in where exactly those magazines are since they were paid for, or subsidized, by tax money.

I got a source at robins that said this was a new rule that came down friday no more magazines over 10’rounds sold at afees, all this is correct ,Stewart must have been givin the option to pull or sell out their stock

File a complaint with the I.G for "fraud, waste and abuse" since the PX/BX is still subsidized by the taxpayer and by them pulling a still legal product they are wasting taxpayer money. Also file a congressional complaint so that the base and PX commander will have to submit a written explanation of why that did it and have to justify it. Use a copy of their response to file a criminal complaint with OSI for fraud and theft if the magazines were not returned to the original vendors/ manufacturers for credit.
When my wife PCSed here from Wright-Patterson the Air Force contract movers damaged the locking mechanism on one of my gun safes so I could not lock it without fearing that I would not be able to open it and get to my firearms. JAG/ claims did not want to pay for it to be repaired, but after I called the base commander's office and explained that I was suing the base commander in Houston County Small Claims Court because I could not secure my weapons and the Air Force was responsible. Needles to say, I got paid real fast! Military commanders hate stress and fear getting sued just like everyone else, and yes you can sue the military and commanders. Make the base commander's life a living hell until he or she reconsiders that B.S. policy.

It will be interesting to see how this works out. Supposedly only 3% of operating costs are funded with taxpayer money. That 3% is all supposed to go to support only overseas exchanges through a DOD Non-Appropriated Fund. All stateside operations are claimed to be fully self-supported by AAFES sales.

Another question that is yet to be asked or answered concerns the weapons currently in stock at the exchanges. What will they do with the ones which have greater than ten round magazines already packed in the boxes.
