I just spoke with Mike at the gun counter at the Marine Corps Exchange at Camp Lejeune and He told me they stopped selling high capacity magazines after the Fort Hood shooting except for ones sold with a firearm.

Military exchange pulled 10+ round mags

Speaking of that, I went by the Walmart here yesterday and was looking around in Sporting goods. I wanted to buy a box of ammo. The shelves where they store it, which is under the firearms has been broken for at least a week. They took the ammo out and threw it in a wire cage without sorting it by caliber.
That wasn't bad enough, there was nobody to wait on you just like the previous week. They couldn't open the computer by sporting goods because the responsible person was not there and this clerk couldn't open it.
Fast forward to yesterday. Shelves still not fixed. Clerk finally showed up and I finally got a box of ammo.
I asked the price of a Mini 14 in the case. I didn't see a price. They didn't know. He looked it up on his phone and still didn't know.
He said finally he was going to the gun room and find out. Thirty five minutes later he still wasn't there. I asked several people where he was and all of them had attitudes. I don't know who you are talking about.
My wife was checking out and I told her to wait in the car while I went back to find out if he was there.
Still not there and other people are waiting to ask for info and buy something.
One guy shows up and I ask him about it. He said, oh the other guy said it was $760.
Same here. I just called the gun department of Ft. Benning PX. The attendant confirmed that anything over ten rounds is no longer available. When asked if this was only at Benning or if it was AAFES wide, she didn't know. She said she had a couple of days off from work; and when she returned all the subject magazines were gone from the shelves.

You got that right. I was in Colorado when the mag ban went into place a few years ago and remember everyone panicking before the cut off date. Since then I have tried to stock up so I don't get caught with my pants down.

I’m too broke so I’ll undoubtedly get caught with my pants down on Mags, guns, and ammo. Oh well, maybe I just need a bayonet attachment
I bought a Ruger GP100 and a Marlin 30-30 at Walmart in the 1980's with little hassle.
Fast forward to 2006, I went into Walmart with my wife who was buying groceries (she had a looong list). As we entered the store, I told her I was going over to the gun counter to get a Henry .22. She got all the groceries (a huge cart full), stood in line to check out, loaded everything in the car and waited ANOTHER 45 minutes before I finally got out of there with my new rifle. I swore I'd never go through that goat rope again.
Yeah I did too. I got caught with my pants down whipping my rear end. I had no mags, and no ammo and just a couple rifles since I just sold a few to start another build. I couldn't find any part and the ones I found were ridiculous. It won't happen again, that I can assure you. I am stacked and lacking in nothing now. I am thinking about getting a pack of GI mags since you can get them cheap now. It won't last long though.
I was thinking I was low on 6.8 mags but I went down and took a count and found out that I have already covered myself there so I was pleasantly surprised.
