So I got a Swiss 1911 Carbine in this week from AIMSurplus. Free transfer at Cherokee Gun & Pawn in Canton - woot woot!
So I'm working on getting her cleaned and straight and I notice the cocking ring is fairly corroded. Now, some folks know me as a fan of Swiss rifles and none of mine have had this kind or corrosion. And I'm like, where did THIS come from?
But cut the ol' girl a break, she's 101 this year so I'm down.
But I'm thinking to myself, how do I get this corrosion off?
So I start with Flitz and a microfiber and I'm like, this is for the birds.
I break out the Miracle Polishing Cloth from SchmittZoid and BOY did it do the trick!!!
I should have pics of the whole affair but I didn't even think about it until after I was done. Ol' girl looks factory fresh in the cocking ring department!
So, SchmittZoid - I need more cloths and please bring them to the next M&G/Swap Meet!
