MOA vs MIL

Man am I glad I unsubscribed early and didn't get drawn in!! MOA = Measurement of America! <-Love it since this is a discussion of SAE vs Metric system which was not intuitive to me and the reason why I asked how people thought when using the mils measurement. USAMU rules! -Out here!
Actually, Mils is not "metric", or "imperial"; it is unitless.

Mils essentially means 1/1000. If the target is 100 yards away (3,600 inches), one mil subtends 3.6 inches. At 200 yards (7,200 inches), one mil subtends 7.2 inches.

If the target is 100 meters away (100,000 millimeters), then 1 mil subtends 100 millimeters.

Amazes me how many people apparently can't divide by 10
I see what you mean now! I don't think I've ever seen them or held a mill rad scope and I don't know the the intricacies of Mill rad system. With that being said I read that 10 clicks equals 1 mil. I was kind of confused when you said that how many people couldn't divide by 10 and I actually thought that one click meant one mill. So I do see the finer adjustment potential there. 😁 Besides you know me I like to ruffle feathers!

Greg it’s not a finer adjustment. It’s just easy because you use your reticle to measure or a spotter can call out and literally just say a number. “Dial 1 mil up” or move .2 mils right. Theres no conversions to inches. Just use your reticle and dial based on the measurement in your reticle.

MOA is .25 while mil is .36 if you have to convert to inches.
