While visiting England recently, found an Underwood Carbine in a small military museum that was given to Field Marshal Bernhard Montgomery supposedly during the Battle of the Bulge because he was riding around in a jeep.

All early features. Rendered unserviceable by law.

Will look through my brochures to see which one

It is an Underwood.

Had a long discussion with the museaum volunteer about carbines. When I asked him if he knew the manufacturers he did not.
He was able to read OD as the last letters then got another internal light turned on abd we confirmed it was an Underwood.
I told him that they manufactured typrwiters before the war and also told him about several other manufacturers like IBM and Rockola.

Was rendered inoperable so criminals don't try to steal firearms from their museums.
I'll try to post some others in this thread. Many Lee Enfields, Mausers etc.

Best small arms display was at the Airborne museum in Duxford Imperial War Museum.

Lots of good stuff to see in the UK. My favorite so far has been Bovington Tank Museum. Duxford is a close second.
