Motorcycle sound question

thats the sound of a Honda..gear driven cams..totally normal

I have the most bad a$$ Honda gear driven V-twin built and it doesn't sound like that.

IIRC those cams are chain driven not gear driven. The kickback when it shuts down would kill a gear drive.

I don't know what that sound was but it didn't sound right either way.

Need more perspective. Five feet from bike, blipping the throttle, etc.

That sounds exactly like a honda geared cam. But I had a 2009 750 shadow and it did not sound like that at all, that I can remember. They may have changed some things between 06-09 though.

Did some youtube surfing and some more thinking about how my 2009 used to sound. Im gonna say walk away from it. Something is out of spec on those gears. Listen to several other 2006 models on youtube...

I just listened to several 2006 Honda shadow 750's on YouTube and didn't hear one that sounds like this.

The 06 shadow 750 is chain driven, there's 2 chains one for each bank.
The kickback when it's shut off is the noise you should pay attention to.

Hard to say...it sounds like it idles ok...but that whirling sound within has me guessing something may be amiss. Have you ridden it on the road yet?

Sounds like It's dragging the starter. The noise at the end is wrong. It should just get quiet, not make that kickback sound at the end.

Do you own it? If so I'll give you a hand with it, if not keep looking or use it as leverage.
