All - For the first time, I decided to blow a good amount of money on a scope. I got a first focal plane Vortex Razor scope with an MRAD reticle.
I understand the basic and functional math behind the MRAD. The scope is sighted in on my rifle at 200 yards. At that distance in MRAD, 1/10 change in elevation would be roughly equivalent to .72”, and 10/10 changes is 72”.
Where my question is - and I can’t find this anywhere - if I know I have a 200 yard zero and want to take a 400 yard shot, do I make 20 clicks (meaning each click is 1/10) or do I have to adjust for the difference that 1/10 at 400 is now worth 1.44”? I am so confused by this and can’t figure it out. Any help is appreciated.
