My first time OC

Maybe he got caught with some pot or has a domestic violence charge. I THINK that in Georgia if you have either of those two charges you have to wait 5 years until you have finished with your probation or whatever before you are eligible for a GWL. I had a friend who got arrested for pot when he was 19 and got one year probation. He had to wait 5 years until he had been off probation to get his GWL. It's probably not as big of a deal as you guys are making it out to be. Gotta love the drama of the ODT.

Let me clear the smoke grenade that has been thrown, I am not CURRENTLY eligible for a GWL. If I was a felon I wouldn't be filling out 4473's. I don't have a sling because I cant find one to put on it. Im pretty certain that an AR-15 or SIG 556 are rifles, but the 16'' barrels that Georgia somehow doesn't fit into their statutes wouldn't make me a happy camper to get arrested over 2 inches of metal. But as I said if you fill out a 4473 and it asks is the person purchasing a handgun or long gun, a carbine length rifle is still a long gun at the end of the day. IANAL!!!!

FYI, many felons fill out 4473s. That's how they get denied when the call gets made.

And... That's how you make the ignore list.
It does nothing for gun owners rights when people do these sort of things. It's negative attention and gives anti 2a more ammo and like someone already said, unintended consequences can happen because of it.
I hope you're okay knowing the guys in the sky (bureau of you know what) are watching you and what you post. Hope you're legal to own.

Didn't see any section for this type of thread. I don't know where most of you guys sit on Conceal Carry vs Open Carry, but I did my first OC. First, no I don't have a GWL. My weapon of choice was my Mosin 91/30. No sling so I held it the whole time. I was walking from my house to the store about 10-15 minute walk. I was walking down the highway and got a few honks, couldn't tell if they were positive or negative. I didn't encounter any police what so ever. In the store I got asked if I was hunting. Other than that no real meltdowns like I see on YouTube. Next time I will carry a different rifle.

Why would you do this? And you say NEXT TIME you'll use a different rifle??? How about don't do that stupid **** next time.... ; )
