Need a Refrigerator repair man !!

My fridge quit working a few weeks ago. I could defrost it and It would work for a few days and then stop cooling again.
I was in a pinch because I had guests coming to stay for a couple of weeks and had to have one then.
I was prepared to either call a repair man or buy another fridge but I went to youtube and did some searching and found what I believed to be the problem.
The little McDonald's French fry light that keeps the coils from freezing had gone bad. You couldn't really tell what was happening because it was all hidden behind the back panel.
I gambled on a $40 part and installed it myself and it's been purring like a kitten ever since.
Youtube has saved me a small fortune the last few years.

I know the feeling. You feel all proud of yourself. And you saved yourself a lot of money

Yeah, but from what I understand, the LG fridge is a POS, and it needed to be replaced. I think we got about 10 years out of it, and that's about all it was good for. Hopefully we'll have better luck with the new one.

Or so years are just disposable

Anything beyond what a average handyman can fix is just toss it and buy a new one

Oddly ,
My neighbors back porch beer fridge is the one his grandparents bought when they got married in 1928.

Damn thing is still humming and keeping his fancy European beer cold .

Just ordered some Maytag appliances. We always used to buy Kenmore. Well they're really not 8around anymore. We bought a Maytag dishwasher in our old house. Got to use it about a year and really liked it before we moved. So we'll try them. We usually get 20+yrs on washer, dryer and dish washer. We're replacing our 30+yr old freezer as well. Everything is mail order anymore. Home Depot only had one of four appliances we're buying to look at. Fortunately we already have had the dish washer and freezer is close to what we have now. Since we've been buying appliances for a while, we have a good idea of what we're doing
