Need advice on sports trading cards

That's what I was hoping for. What would be a reasonable price for a box of 36 unopened wax packs of any of the sports listed?
$10
I have something in the order of 250k card from this era. I don't know why I even have them, as they are essentially worthless. I remember picking up a few hundred of them from the tops of trash cans. Still, at $10 for a box, it could be a good gift for a kid that might be interested in starting a baseball card collection.

Ditto. Basically what he said. No collectors really want much from this era. But great for parents helping their kids start a collection just for fun. I had quite a few complete sets from this era, and struggled just giving them away. They are literally that undesirable. I honestly wouldn't want to do all the work to sort through a full pallet of cards. But as mentioned you might get lucky and find a rare gem. Jordan rookies are still worth quite a bit from back then.

I'd go either older cards, or these newer cards that come with the occasional authentic autograph or jersey cut. Some of those get pricey.

I have shoe boxes full of good sports cards, I would buy them for my son before I deployed over seas. I have Jeter, Shaq, Michael Jordan cards as ROOKIES. I believe what the one guy on this Thread said after the Setriods years these cards went from good money to put away for another day cards. I did just trade a Jeter Rookie card for a Bottle of Scotch. It was for my buddies son.

Now days they arent worth crap if they aren't "graded" by a professional grading service. Card could be brand new out of the pack, but without a grade its worth maybe 1/4 of the grades price. Think, diamond grading. The only benefit is, you know the quality of card you are buying. On top of that, cards from the last 15-20 years have to he special cards, hologralhs, autographs, game used (piece of ball or jersey with the card in the pack), etc. Not at all for your average fan... the industry, in an attempt to inflate the values and create a secondary market with the grading have driven most of the hobbies out and made it more of a business.

I wouldn't buy them. Comics or cards from the 80s and 90s are not worth a lot generally. You might could pay 500 and sell them for a 1000 or 1200. The amount of work and time for that profit I think you would be better off going down to Wendy's and working three weeks. You would get more money and would have spent less time . Just my .02.
