Need advice on where to stay in Myrtle Beach.

The beaches at North Myrtle to me are nicer, but south myrtle seems to have more "touristy" stuff. Broadway At The Beach is a huge mall with a lake in the middle. There is a bridge across the lake and they have a dog food dispenser on it so the kids can feed the carp. Pretty cool watching them and seeing ducks walk across the fishes heads to fight for the dog food! Pretty cool put-put golf there with a fire breathing dragon that my kids loved. Paddle boats in the lake that you can rent as well.
^^^^This x-2, North Myrtle is much better for families, no loud mouth drunk teenagers! Cherry grove pier is also a great place to fish. If you stay in North Myrtle, check out a place called Painters home made ice cream, it is off hwy 17.

Broadway is fun while the sun is up, but in the evening it becomes a party place for Jersey shore wanna be.
Take the kids to magic adventure ( at broadway) the whole family will have a blast.

I've been with the family quite a few times and always stay in North Myrtle Beach. It's quite at night, not packed, and the beach is clean. I've been very pleased staying at Ocean Reef and The Caravelle Resorts. Prices are good, rooms are always clean, and they are within a 10 minute drive to most area attractions.

I have been to Myrtle Beach (went last weekend) about once a year for the past few years and have stayed in various places. Like most said, N.Myrtle Beach is a little quiter than near the boardwalk/convention center area.

If you have to be near S.Myrtle beach, there are many condos that offer good pricing. We stayed at Breakers Resort this year. For around $80nite, we had the "economy" suite that included a mini fridge, stove, microwave and had enough room for two queen beds. The plus is that it is on the beach, walking distance to the convention center and only 10min drive to restaurant row. The place had a "lazy river" and two hot tubes to keep the kids busy while I had to tend to business.

We stayed at the Ocean Reef last year, good price, but a little older and did not have all the amenities of the Breakers. But, it seemed to be less noisy.

We went last week during spring break, but if your going during the summer, it will be moderate amount of people.
I will say, get the coupon books and try The Giant Crab, for $21 person (with coupon) it is a great seafood buffet.

I had to take a week long class for work at a place called marina in at grand dunes. One of the nicest places I've ever stayed. It's a little off the beach but they have a shuttle running to the beach every half hour or so, plus its only like 2 blocks if u wanna drive. Real shnazzy.
