Need Assistance Translating Foreign language

While roaming around this morning I purchased a beautiful small wooden box with either Japanese or Chinese writing on it as shown below. I believe the box might be an Asian urn [empty] and am curious what the English translation might be. Of course, it might be something completely different also. If anyone on here can translate or point me in a direction online that would be great. Looking for appropriate answers, please. Not interested in drunk humor. Thanks.
