I have a Kubota L2501 tractor and I’m looking at getting a 60” rotary mower for it. Any recommendations as to any particular brand/model? Any advice on what not to buy? Thanks in advance.

Just remember that your L2501 is designed for a maximum of a 60" (5 ft) mower. For a 24.8 HP engine (approx. 20 HP PTO), with a max lift of about 1100 lbs. The general rule for tractors and brush hogs/rotary cutters is 1 foot per 5 HP, so the 5' is at the top of the range. Also, a light to medium duty mower will keep you in the 700 to 900 lb lift range. Lastly, the larger the mower, when you approach the HP limit, the slower your tractor will need to travel. If you have a hydrostatic transmission, it is easier to maintain speed and rpm, plus a front end loader will help balance the mower/cutter weight. The mower will be designed to operate at 540 RPM so in heavy brush and going up hills, you can easily bog the engine.

The Land Pride 60" is probably the most common mower sold with the Kubota series. I personally have an older "no name" brand 5' heavy mower (with stump jumper) and a Bush Hog brand 72" (6') finish mower, but I also have a 37 HP (33 HP PTO) Kubota, and both can bog my tractor under heavy cutting and on hills.

Good video with the L2501 and Land Pride 60" mower...

I run a 5 ft land pride on my l4301 and it works great for where I cut. I'm in tight areas fairly often so I don't want more width.

I like Land Pride equipment its durability and for the ease of finding parts. I bought one piece of cheap Chinese equipment and will not make that mistake again.

Land pride is top of my list right now.

Agree with Bush Hog brand. Hell for stout compared to other mowers.

I would go with 48". 60" is a lot of mower for that size tractor. Course we don't know what you are mowing, but still that's a lot of weight and torque going BACK through your tractor if you are doing anything other than mowing golf courses.

It’s mostly just a field of grass that gets cut maybe 2-3 times a year. I’ll check with the dealer I bought the tractor from to see what they have to fit it.
