Need good gunsmith for 1911 work.

If your industry is based on reputation, and if your reputation is based on the performance of a product, I could see wanting to protect it by working with top notch products.

I never said he wrong for doing it or that I don't think he should be that way. All I was saying is that I don't believe he is the right person to ask to do work on a Rock Island, and based on everything else I've heard he probably doesn't have the time anyway.

I would send it to this guy:

http://www.apwcogan.com/

He does it all. His hard chrome is too good a deal to pass up for spray on finishes in my opinion, but he offers both.

He has worked on a couple of my guns.

His turn around time is about two weeks.

He will tell you how to ship it as cheap as possible, or you could drop it off on the way to the beach.

I have also used John Harrisson before, and he is terrific.
