Hello Outdoors Trader guys n gals!
I would like some opinions on what members here would do in my situation. Here goes -

I just bought my first AR15, a Daniel Defense DDM4 V7 Pro. With it I got a Romeo 5 and to boot won an Aimpoint PRO in a raffle. Now I'm a bit stuck on where to go next. I would like to use the nice barrel of the rifle to reach out and touch targets a bit further down range, 300-400m or there abouts (just rough numbers).
I have considered the following options
a) get an Aimpoint 3x-c (or another 3/4x magnifier with a flip mount) and call it a day
b) sell the PRO and Romeo 5 and purchase a better low power variable magnification optic (1-4 or 1-6 something in the $700 range)
c) purchase a higher power optic (because MOAR, right?) and side mount an RMR. (expensive option...may not happen for a while)

Thoughts? Suggestions?
There is no one right answer and it all depends on use case and preference, so I'm just looking for opinions and experiences.

Thank you all in advance!

Acog is all you need.
*sigh* yes...4x ACOG with ACSS reticle and RMR on top...that was my first love, but the price point is OUCH and there are down falls.
such short eye relief sucks for every-day use and the awkward RMR placement with chin on stock positioning is not very natural. but i do love this setup...and it should have been option D.

Depends on your use. You also do qd setups to switch between long range and close.

Heres where you need to be honest with yourself. Its not a precision rifle and how often are you going to shoot 400+ yards? Living in GA prob not as often as you are envisioning. If you want to increase range perhaps a flip to the side magnifying optic is the best. I prefer LPVOs now you can get a decent 1-6 for a very fair price. The steiner px4i is a very highly rated day bright lpvo that can be had sub 600$ easily.

I am loving the LVPO game right now. Just too much versatility. The very best may give up a tiny hair of speed on the CQB side, but there is so much to be gained at distance. Ultimately it depends what you use the rifle for. The LVPO is the swiss army knife. Others are more specialized.

I second the PX4i, but if you want a little extra magnification, maybe grab a used Vudu 1-6 which may be just a hair out of your price range or a used Gen II Razor (the heavy one).

Sounds like a Low Powered Variable Optic is what you want. A 1-4x, 1-6x, or 1-8x. It will do everything you want in a single optic.

What is your budget? There are a lot of good LPVO’s out there nowadays, and some good suggestions made above already.

The ACOG is one of the finest combat optics out there, but folks tend to love ‘em or hate ‘em. Personally I’m not a fan, but only because I find the fixed power in the 3x - 4x range to be limiting for me; nothing wrong with the reliability or quality of the optic. If you think you might go that way, find someone that has one and spend some time behind it before purchasing.
