Need some help on Mossberg 15-22

My nephew has a fella trying to sell him a Mossberg 15-22 (he lives in Texas, so not sure if prices are more or less in Texas). I know nothing about these rifles. What do they cost new and what are they selling for used, considering the "panic pricing" nowadays. It has a 10 round and a 25 round magazine. Any help would be appreciated.

Wow. He is asking $300.00. Sounds like he is trying to rip him off. I think he said it was a Model 715T. I think I will go to my local Walmart and check it out. Thank you.

Smith and Wesson makes the 15-22. Mossberg is a 715 I believe.

Thanks. The last time I was in Walmart the S&W was $447.00 + tax. Hard to believe the Mossberg is that much less.

walmart had one 2 weeks ago in Ellijay, $239 was the price. $300 these days is not that crazy, have seen them at gun stores for more. Remember WallyW has buying power to offer at lower prices. Now go try to find one at WallyW....good luck. I picked up and handled the one at WallyW, felt really cheap, more toy like then my Kel Tecs!! I did not buy it
