neighbors called law enforcement on me

i hope the people who called the police will come forward and speak to me as to why i should stop shooting such as they're wife just gave birth and the baby keeps getting woke up (i have a soft for children) or some other decent reasoning then i'll stop shooting when they're home, but otherwise in few days i'll go out there with the 40 again and target practice if i so desire
Too bad they probly wont. Too cowardess to come to you the first time and now they called the cops and you didn't get in trouble. Doubt they will contact you in person now.
Hell, I would approach them once I found out who they were and respectfully ask what the issue was. But not until I made more noise to make sure they know I didn't get in trouble and wont.

Maybe it's just me but, when I lived in an area I could shoot freely, I would give my neighbors a heads up about the time frame and what I was doing. You very well may have, but 100' is just not that far and it just seems neighborly to me to notify adjoining property owners. Not a gun thing per se, but a courtesy thing. Who knows they may be city folk and just not get it. In most cases in the long run it pays to err on the side of politeness with neighbors.

It can be disconcerting to sit down to watch a football game and enjoying a cold one and then 30 minutes to an hour of gunfire starts in unexpectedly 100' outside your window, (not really that far)....been on both sides of the table. If I had an issue I would have just walked over an talked, as opposed to involving LE though...

Some folks just fear guns and think walking over and talking or calling would "put them in some danger", people are weird. Maybe I'm just old fashioned.
