Got the wife 4 chicks for our anniversary (what she wanted and I got off cheap). Before anyone gives me grief, I drove almost 6 hours and 250 miles for these chicks to surprise her. I got 2 three week old Golden Laced Cochins pullets and 2 five day old unsexed Brahma chicks (hoping for hens). All have the feathered feet and will get big. Anyone ever raised either of these breeds? They are slow growers and will take 14-16 months to reach full size. As required, pictures will be posted shortly.

We have 3 hens at the present time from chicks 2 years ago. I know a new tractor is in my future honey do list. Biggest issue I will have is being able to keep them apart until they are able to defend themselves. The black sex link is a mean b#$ch and ate the comb off the Americana hen.

We have both cochins and brahmas (and name just about any breed). As far as I know, they are the same as any other chicken. I will ask the girlfriend tonight if they require anything out of the ordinary.

With the rest of the girls in the back yard. I already have someone at work that can take the extras if required. You can have hens; but not roosters in PTC. If you have a rooster, it needs to be set free in the high $$ areas and let them try to catch it.
