Lead head? Do you mean a lead bullet?
I have no idea who could believe that cast bullets can not be shot above 1000 fps. The whole developmental history of the .357 Magnum and .44 Magnum was done with cast lead bullets.
Cast lead bullets can be shot at velocities up to 2200fps (and higher in some rifles). There is no velocity limitation, depending on quality of lubricant and fit to barrel.
If one doesn't know the groove diameter of their gun, one could have problems with undersized lead bullets and leading.

I did not say it couldn't handle above 100fps .. yes leadhead as in lead bullet.. and like I posted I am new and I was going by what more than one person told me about leading of the barrel..

leading is from improperly sized bullets and incorrect hardness of lead

I just pull a snake thru it after shooting and its brand new

Leading can be easily removed by wrapping some material from an all copper Chore Boy scouring pad around a bore brush for a tight fit.

Good job on finding the load that fits your sights. That is normal for handloading.
