Made some coffee last night using a different fire building technique.
A good handful of small twig tips to get the fire started, then feeding two or three finger to thumb sized sticks angling into the fire box with a little gap between them.
No smoke after start up. Very clean and fast burning.
16 oz water on top hoping for a 10 min. rolling boil. At the 12 min. mark, I stopped adding fuel, just let the coals do their thing. Rolling boil at 13 min. with Dogwood. I wonder if a larger diameter pot would boil faster than the tall Stanley?
End result was less wood needed. Not as much build up of ash/coals which gave the stove better air flow.
I wish I had some oak to test with, but I might have some cherry wood.
So far, so fun.
