Very true. And this new Tacoma isn't great looking but it's not as ugly as the Tundra.

I don't immediately hate it like I did the Tundra.

I'm not sold on their direction in powertrain choice either.

Not a fan yet of the 4 cylinder turbo. Honda has been having issues with it since they came out.

Maybe it's just the bed accessories but my first thought is it looks like a Honda ridgeline. If Toyota wants my respect they should just find a way to bring the simplified workhorse hilux to the American market.

Why can’t Toyota just scrap the Tacoma and give us the Hilux in the States as well. I have always preferred the styling of the Hilux, not to mention the engine options as well. The current gen Hilux is pretty ugly too but I would still choose it over this new Tacoma.

It's about the size of a 1st generation RC / AC Tundra... this tells me that the new STOUT will be about the size of an older smaller Tacoma

Not doing it for me. A truck should have bumpers, or at least some way to mount bumpers and a winch, especially if offered in 4x4 version.

It has those "rugged Baja looks"; until you snag the front plastic works on a parking stop and rip the whole front off.
