Hi guys, I've got a couple newbie questions: 1) If you agree to purchase a firearm and you're 3 hours or more away from the seller one way, what is reasonable to ask the seller to drive to meet? and 2) if you're unfamiliar with the area, where would you choose to meet? Thanks in advance

When you are a brand new person who has just joined this website and immediately wants to do a purchase or trade, I think the burden is on you to travel to the other persons location for the meet.
I ask buyer/ seller or trader if they are willing to meet half way.
Google maps is great ,get their Aires code and yours and pick a spot in between.
If it is something I really want, I will drive to them where they want to meet. I have been within 10 minutes of homes and or places of work.
I am one of few that doesn’t mind driving as many are opposed to it for whatever reason. I have driven to every corner of the state for something I had to have.
If your only willing to drive half way or only 10 min up the road, whatever the widget is must not be that important to have.

The parking lot of a Waffle House or Huddle House is usually a good meeting spot. These places are easy to find, open long hours from pre-dawn morning and late evening, and if the other person is late you can go in for a cup of coffee and kill some time.
Another thing that will help you out to not be a Nub is to come to meet and greats/ ODT gatherings... folks will be able to actually get to know you. I think this is very important.

If you don't ask the other person to meet you, you're guaranteed the answer. Everyone here was new at someone point.
There's a ton of folks in polk, bartow, and paulding that meet at Wal-Mart in rockmart and I personally try to meet in large populated places

Everything's negotiable, just be respectful and communicate effectively. And ALWAYS get the details captured in a PM on the site.
I tend to pick Quick Trip, or somewhere similar. If I'm buying I travel to the seller, if I'm selling the buyer needs to come to me, (exceptions of course, but that's my rule of thumb).

If I'm the buyer, I come to you. I don't expect you to come to meet me but it would be nice if you'd consider coming maybe a half hour in my direction.
If we're trading, we meet about halfway between.
I like the Home Depot, Academy Sports, Publix, Kroger kind of parking lots.
Remember everything is often negotiable if you ask respectfully.
