NEWBIE QUESTION

Go to him or ask the seller where he would be willing to meet. Once you get some feedback, you might see some improvements. Start locally. It would have to be a real deal for me to travel that far! Seems nuts.

As most have said, just ask. I have done all the above at some point. If it’s far away and I want bad enough I’ll drive. I have also met folks at their house due to them not being able to go anywhere. As far as meeting places I used Walmart, gas stations really anywhere that’s public and occupied

It's all in the air.

I'm mostly a buyer.

I make it clear to the seller that I'm still working, and as much as i would like to have their item, every minute on the road costs me money, which I have to factor in the the cost. I don't mind eating a little bit, or even a fair amount, but when the seller lives 3 hours away, and won't drive out of sight of his mailbox, that adds up to the cost of the gun.

Right now there's a gun I wold like to have that's at least 3 hours away (6 hour round trip, not counting pee breaks). Willing to pay full asking price, but buyer won't drive out of his driveway. His gun has been up for 3 months. I understand about it being his gun, his choice blah, blah, but it's bad business.

Anyway, as the buyer, I try to offer full asking price, but I need some consideration on the arrangements.

P.S. It amazes me how many sellers essentially swear that they never go more than 5 mile from home for any reason whatsoever. If that's true, it's sad.

Its all a crap shoot anymore. you have asshole buyers and asshole sellers. Weigh the choices and hope for the best. I ve done quite a few deals and it seems to have worked out.

Being a newbie is tough, but hang in there. First, what ever you and the seller agree upon. Second and this is paramount, do what you say you will do. A person's word is their bond, that has never changed despite what this new generation says. And always keep good communication. This is their money and time involved too. Good luck

Tony Montana agrees!

No way I am driving anywhere for a noob with no feedback. Just the way it is.

Well, he can quickly build feedback.

ScoutMaster17, do you wanna buy a box of ammo from me? I've got 50 rounds of these Remmy 22 long rifle's that are 95% reliable that I'd sell you for, uh, just 15 bucks!

But I will leave you positive feedback when we're done.

If the seller makes this known in the ad why would you think it's sad that he won't accommodate your special needs. You have the option to pass the ad by...
