This is actually really good. They have done it for years in other states. It only takes a few seconds and cuts down on illegal harvesting of animals. If you hunt legally now only inconveniences less than a minute. If you hunt illegally...

This link says nothing about what the OP is stating. It is the normal licensing/harvest record we have in place.

No way this will happen. DNR can be really stupid (taking away physical tags and outsourcing our licenses to Missouri) but I cannot fathom how this would even be possible.

Yep, people need to get out a little more.

I was on one of the deer subcomittees 2 years ago and every conceivable tagging system was discussed. They were all shot down by WRD's reps. I'd love to see a link on this. Anything is possible but I'd be really surprised if this is correct.

I'm a lot more likely to have a cell phone on me than a pen. (I assume most know they are not supposed to move a deer until it's recorded on their harvest record).
