Heyoooo, 2012 Altima 4 cyl, need a CVT tranny R&R. Any local people have a shop that does the work? Specifically any forum members?

I am on the fence about rep[lacing it as the value of the car is only around $3k-$4k, but cannot in good conscious sell it knowing that

Hate to tell you this but it’s not worth repairing .

But the good news is that it will probably sell for $1,800-2000 with a bad trans

Saw my neighbor sell a 2008 Ford Edge with a blown head gasket for $2000 in one day on fb markwrplace .

Sorry to hear that. I have avoided CVTs for this reason they seem to go out more and cost more to repair with not a lot of pros (some get a little better gas mpg some don’t).

I just hate that almost everyone it seems want to use these. Seems Toyota has held off on using this of the big 3(Toyota, Nissan, Honda).

I would rather have reliability over MPG. The government however “encourages” MPG and not reliability.
