Just wanted to share this new rifle of mine that I think is pretty neat. I love the traditional Type 56 rifles, but I was offered this one on trade so I jumped on it. I had to add some money on top of my GSAD to get it, but it seems like a pretty neat gun. I haven't fired it yet, and it appears to have maybe 30 rounds through it. Pretty happy with this, and I almost feel bad running the cap out of it. Almost.

The story I was told was those were made on the same line as the military rifles, only they are not full auto. I have owned one, and like an idiot let it go. They are great shooters and run like a tank.

I apologize, mine was not this exact model. Did not have the stock like yours. Man, that is a good looking rifle. Run the piss out of it, and if you need help, call me and I'll run a few thousand rounds through it also!!

Really? I didn't know that any military ever used the bakelite configuration. Was is the Chinese or were they exported?
I also believe the bakelite 56 was the smallest in number of the pre ban imported Norinco 56s. Not a variant you see popping up for sale very often. Yours looks to be in very fine condition. Excellent addition you got there OP.

In the above photo they are all smiling cause they all got these kick butt AKs. Here is a pic of the guys rifle on the right showing the full auto selector knotch.
