Nov 3rd Deer Hunt

I hunted the swamp this morning and had a pretty cool visitor.

About 8:30 this guy came bouncing through the brush chasing a doe. I thought he was bigger. Definite ground shrinkage lol but happy to get one for the freezer. He was the third of three bucks I saw this morning. The rut is in full swing where I am. I can't wait to see shotgun 01 shotgun 01 's buck.

Well, since you asked. He only has a 17.5 inch inside spread.

He'd a been a goodun in a few years.................jk
Yep, that is for sure. Taxidermist pulled his jawbone and said he was 4.5 years old. Should have been a much nicer deer. He was actually with two other bucks that were chasing a doe at daybreak.

This weekend was crazy. I saw 52 deer on Friday and Saturday, and then 8 more this morning. I shot that deer at 6:30 and stayed in the stand another hour. The deer just kept on showing up.

I'm just pullin your chain man, not very many hunters would have let it walk, congrats to ya!

I visted Wilkes in Forsyth county yesterday morning on my weekly meat purchase run - the butcher showed me a picture of deer stacked like firewood at the barn out back. Most of them were bucks.
