OA requested to see NFA stamp

It's our club policy that if an officer of the club or a CRO or RO asks to see your stamp that you show it to them.
We don't want illegal NFA firearms on the club property.
That's why we ask.
But you have absolutely ZERO legal exposure. Why should you take it upon yourself to monitor the legality of anyone's rifles? And why solo out Title 2 firearms?

Do you ask every member if they are legally allowed to own the Title 1 firearms they shoot in your club? Further, do you make them produce a copy of a 4473 or bill of sale?

Sounds like a FUDD. Did he ask to check and see if the host was legal also???

You should have told him to kiss your ass and walked out never to return. Personally I have very little tolerance for ANTI gunowners.

As long as you're legal, I don't see the issue with them asking.

First question first;
I do it, because it's part of my JOB, they PAY me, showing the stamp is a rule they agreed to follow in order to be a member, I enforce the rules.
If I'm not going to enforce all the rules fairly and reasonably I will not do the job.
Most just hang the paperwork off their range bag.
One guy in a club of 2,000 men and women had a problem with that.
Are you he?

Second question;
No I don't ask about any of the other typical firearms that I see members with.
That IS NOT a part of my JOB.
(Though I am pulled into many conversations regarding especially interesting firearms, of which I'm lucky to see so many.)

I take pride in working to be and staying a reasonable man at all times, the members of our club are reasonable people, it works out just fine.

What club do you work at?

I am not he...but it sounds like you have 1,999 people who don't mind having their rights further infringed. You seem like a reasonable enough guy and I really don't want to get everyone wrapped up in a tizzy about this, but come on...."I'm just doing my job?" That's the response we get?

Again, you're just doing your job...and I get that. But it doesn't bother you that you are subjecting members of your club to an extra (some might even say punitive) layer of scrutiny?
