6 months and 5 days. So far

Send a message to NICSliaison@fbi.gov. You must have your control number. I haven't had one come back in less than 11 months. The last one was around 2 months and waiting. I sent an inquiry to that email on a Friday and got approval Monday morning. It's worth a try to get things moving.
