Off the shelf steak marinade - who can recommend a good one?

I’ve actually done some smoked hotdogs with a light coating of Honey Hog bbq seasoning and used mustard as a binder. It takes a bit of time for just cooking some dogs but man they taste great. By far my favorite way to eat them when time permits
I would like to try that with my Homemade BBQ Sauce and it's honey based too.

You weren’t learned good. Definitely salt and pepper before it hits the grill. I have never heard anyone suggest no seasoning until after it’s cooked.
No real steak chef would season one during cooking.

You are just supporting sacrilege.

There’s no such thing as seasoning meat as it’s cooking. Basting is as close as it gets to such. Everything else will get cooked out and be pointless.
