Got this one 0900 with Grandpa's '51 model Marlin in .35 Rem.
i gave her 10 minutes to step out from behind that bush and she never did, she just stood there looking me dead in the eye. i decided to blow her brains out of her ears. my patience had ran out so i took the only shot i had.
im not one of the cool people here who can do it and get away with it.

I can describe it 'cause I did the same thing about 20 years ago. I hit a doe from about 10 yards with a 150gr Core-Lokt square in the head and left 2 ears peeled back on top of its neck....the ears were the only thing left on its head.

Congrats to the lady and her first deer...great pic!...need to get my wife out there so e day...eventually will, making progress big time.
my hunt could have been awesome as I saw 8 does and let them all pass me this morning so my buddy could get his first deer of the season.
He was right on the ridge above me and they all headed his way.
He did not see or hear and of those sneaky bastards...LOL.
I told him to be alert as they are in stealth mode.
