OK hows about who has famous folks/stories amongst you

Jimmy Carter called my dad back in the 60's asking him to come to Plains and be the preacher at his church. Daddy declined.
My aunt attended Plains Baptist during that time. The pastor who came in 77 preached there until his passing a few years ago. My wife's mother was pregnant with her when they moved him to plains. I don't know the details but then church stood firm in regards to changes Carter wanted made. The church would not allow it to become president charters church because it is Gods church. There was some discussion made and president carter and others decided to start a new church where he still teaches Sunday school. Of course all of this was following your fathers call.

In the late 50's and early 60's, I met many movie and tv stars. My dad was Asst. Police Chief in Shreveport, Louisiana and was responsible for VIP security when visited by these celebrities. The photo to the left is James Arness (Matt Dillion of Gunsmoke) shaking hands with my dad. In 1957, I was ten years old. The annual rodeo in Shreveport drew these people there by invitation from the city. Because of the rodeo, I met Paw, Hoss and Little Joe of Bonanza. Adam would not do a show in the south because of segregation. Other stars were, Gabby Hayes, Lash LaRue, Gene Autry (Mr. Autry was a very nice man), Roy and Dale Evans, Annie Oakley, and Andy Devine. My dad also had concession rights at the City Auditorium in Shreveport where the Louisiana Hayride was located. Some of the stars there I met where Johnny Horton ( a personal friend of my dad's), Hank Snow, Jim Reeves, Faron Young, Johnny Cash, and yep, Hank Williams. Others were Jimmie Davis, Jim Reeves, Kitty Wells, Floyd Cramer, Sonny James and a bunch more. No, Elvis was there too but my dad said no to meeting Elvis. He was a little controversial then with his swinging hips. Met Ricky Nelson also but I can not remember why. Those were good days. Radio Station KWKH did the Hayride. Frank Page was also a friend of my dad's.

In high school I played against WILL MUSCHAMP...
I sat a few feet from him the other night at a high school basketball game. There were people meeting him and a few autographs and he was a nice guy. I simply said hello as he sat and he likewise. Of course when he sat I didn't know who he was. It was a pretty big deal for a rural single A school.

The family and I had dinner with Toby Mac and his family at Disney World in 2014. It was the Hollywood and Vine Buffet inside Hollywood Studios. I saw him in the line waiting for the Great Movie Ride. I usually
don't bother or acknowledge famous people in settings like that but his music is very inspiring. So I went ahead and struck up a conversation. Quietly I told him "Love your music we listen every morning on the way to school" He was really grateful and humble. After that it was basic conversation material. He is just a regular family man who happens to be very talented.

I was across the aisle from Hillary on a flight from Chicago to Rochester. She smelled like rotten lilies.

I once recognized (through a disguise) Sid Haig on a flight out of ATL to SFO. His traveling companion was amazed I could recognize him. The disguise was quite good.

This reminded me of being on a flight from LAX to ATL with Sid Haig and the guy who played Candy Man. I didn't talk to them. They looked really old.
