I dig the Aquaracer too. IF... I could afford it I think I would just go with the quartz model since it's easier on my budget not just at the point of sale but maintaining it too.The Liv P51 pilot watch hasn't arrived yet, but I did go look at some TAG Heuer today... They were nice, but the one I really liked was the Aquaracer, and they are like $2800 for the quartz and $3800 for the automatic... Didn't want to spend that kinda money on a watch, but I did glance over and saw a Bulova Marine Star, that looks a lot like the Aquaracer, but for like 1/5 the price. And it was on sale for 25% off, so just over $600 out the door with taxes...
Love the way it looks, will be wearing it a lot...
The Marine Star is definitely a good looking piece but I read it doesn't even have any water resistance. I don't know if it even has a threaded crown. Seems like they should have named it something else. But it does look damn good. As far as Bulova goes I want the square case Frank Sinatra dress watch and the Oceanographer commonly referred to as the Devil Diver. I just like the retro 70s aesthetic it has. I'm also looking real hard at a Seiko Recraft on the Jomashop site. I dig the square cushion style case and the green dial. In fact I think the dial looks a lot like a roulette wheel. And it can be had for under two bills which is pretty damn good considering current Seiko prices.
