Okay I'm into watches again. Post your favorite models

I'm glad for you. Glad you like it. I just beat someone else to the punch. LOL. If I really, really wanted one, I could buy it. Just have to duck when that frying pan comes my way.....:becky:

yeah, we all know how many guns we have all bought and sold on this place... Pretty much anyone could swing a watch like this if they wanted... $4-$5k for something that will last generations if cared for, is not much money in a world where most folks are paying $1000 every year or so on a new cell phone that they will throw out in a year when the new one comes out, you know? We aren't talking Rolex or Patek Phillipe money here... haha

Correct. My Seamaster was I think $3k new, literally 15 years ago. That works out to be 56 Cents a day to enjoy it. 25 if you consider I could still sell it for $1500 right now (quartz model but I know better now).

Meanwhile my Pelagos bought used has gone up like $800 in the two years I bought it.

That said watches can be fun and cheap and look at this ridiculous thing I got today.

I have some others I am gonna let go, less expensive but still good watches... I would sorta like to just give them to folks... rather than do individual listings and just have flippers scoop them up to resell my free watches, so you guys here that have been participating in this convo... start a group PM with all of us and I can post what I have and you can decide who gets what. Fair?

Rolex is one thing, Patek is another.....I like my 30+ yr old Seiko. Just couldn't ever get myself to take the plunge. Can't say I won't still. Been looking at the Rolex most of my life. I like a good deal. Back when I bought my Seiko, it was the same price as servicing a Rolex. Much less the price of the watch. I'm retired now several years and don't wear a watch or drive much anymore. So spending big money just isn't my thing

Interesting watch. Let's face it, the quartz will keep better time. Heck I've had my Seiko so long, they're collector's items now. Worth more than I paid for them. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You're paying your own bills. You get to decide. No one else's opinions matter. Except maybe the wife......And that's as much or as little as you allow
