Second attempt at post, lost first one.

Helping my father get info.

Recently my father had a friend over from their church helping get something fixed. Somehow they got on the conversation of guns and the guy said he dealt in collector weapons and old guns. My dad pulled out the guns he had from his father, my grandfather, and the guy immediately expressed interest in many of them. My dad's was a career salesperson and immediately saw that the guy wanted them for a reason. So after telling me, I figured I'd help track down info on them. Many of these guns are from my grandfather and great-grandfather and potentially my great great-grandfather. Some show patents from 1880-1895. Two are octagonal barrel rifles and one looks like a muzzle loader double barrel shotgun. Below is the info I could find on each of them. My family came from farming heritage in Kentucky so a number of old "varmint" style .22s.

Curious if some know history of these guns and if there is true collectablity to them. Many seemed pretty cool to me as it was the first time I had seen many of them. Some of them are old bb guns from old and one is a small level action single shot .22 that has my great-grandfather name carved in the side. It isn't pictured as its staying in the family.

10. JCH model 88 made for Sears by High Standard
The High Std. equivalent is their model 101 aka Sentinel
I have JCH model 31 semi-auto by Hi-Std as well.
Think both from same time period, 1950-63.

For firearm info I've had some success at gun-data.com
Think it's now free, has antique and modern categories.

Desirable gun, $700 - 900. Pictures make the stock look refinished, might need better pics,

check to make sure that this isn't .32 cal R.F. - a popular load and gun back in the day. .32 RF is unobtainable except on the collector market

Unless there is a name on it from a recongnized maker, not worth much. Would be worth it to take off the locks, and look under the barrel for any markings.

The High Standard equivalent to the JCH Model 88 is the 101 and later, Sentinel. Very well made, solid .22
