Wouldn't trust my life to an olight. Seen too many issues. CS is on top of it and takes care of the customer, but doesn't matter adter they go down if/when you need it.

Only had problems with a pocket which was replaced. Had a laser light como on a competition ar 9 for a while but it was distracting.

So if not Olight, what is a go-to, won’t break the bank, regular batteries, high lumen brand, or does such a thing exist?

What exactly do you mean by regular batteries?

Something readily available at grocery or drug stores. AAA, AA, maybe CR123s, etc.

I wouldn't touch anything that runs on AA or AAA. CR123 at minimum for a proper output light.

TLR1 HL is hard to beat around $100.

Anything less than that and your rolling the dice imo.
