Opinions needed - Buying a new cooler

I've tested the Coleman extreme. It will keep ice for 5 days, but not in real world conditions like camping.

EdgeStar 12v fridge/freezer.

The power draw is relatively low if you hard wire it vs. the 12v plug in. It's capable of -6 degrees F, has flash-freeze function, can MAKE ice vs. needing ice

I got mine as a dent return for around $275 shipped. It will hold about 48 12 oz cans.

I've been considering one of those. Is the lid insulated or hollow?

It is insulated. It works very well in South GA. where the heat is even worse than it is here.

My pelican keeps ice 2 day longer than my friends yeti and was $125 cheaper. It averages 6 days unless you add a bunch of warm drinks in it midweek

Pelican is the way to go in my opinion. Love mine wonderful ice retention!

Lots of good info guys, much appreciated. One thing I've already decided - since my new company vehicle will be a full sized extended cab truck (possibly a crew) I plan to keep the cooler in the back seat. The AC will be on most of the time and the ice should last a good deal longer.
