I have a Ruger 77/357 with a TB thanks to Dobbs. I tried a Nikon Buckmaster with 1 inch rings and it was too high to sight in. But lower rings won't let the bolt go back? Iron Sites may not see over my Octane 9.

What to do?

Ps: does Ruger make a mount to attach a holographic optic? Their mounts appear to only work with Ruger rings?

Never heard or seen of a scope mounted too high to sight in. Ever seen a set of see-through scope rings for a lever action?

Did you try to sight it in or did you stop when your friend said it was too high?

I stopped. It's beginning to look like user error. Or maybe it's a broken scope. It's a 40mm scope on 1 inch rings.

I always appreciate the help I receive on the ODT.
