2 questions for some experts.

1. Quality Hardware carbines all had spring tubes correct? How can you identify a Type I Spring Tube Receiver? According to the chart attached they were rare. Type-1 receivers (spring tube with lug) anybody have o picture of one?

2. Looks like the previous owner may have spray painted the entire carbine to make it look new, What is the best/safest way to remove the paint? Someone said it may be parkerized.

...
Any positive information would be greatly appreciated.

I tried denatured alcohol in the magazine well and not much came off.

I'll try the citristrip. If I get this finish off I will keep it as I find it. I like original wear/finish.

Milsurpcollector if you want to ride to my house this evening I have acetone, citristrip, denatured alcohol etc.

I know it's Mother's Day so "she who must be obeyed might get irritated at us both if you leave".
