Places to eat around Forsyth/Macon GA

The Bear's Den next to Mercer for meat & 3
Papouli's on Tom Hill for a good Gyro and Curly fries
Finchers on Houston Ave for BBQ (unless you are scared of the ghetto)-(in that case don't go to Macon)
Ingleside Village Pizza for thick slice hippy pizza
Nu Way for a hot dog
Sometimes I'll make up an excuse to go to Bass Pro just so I can go to Papouli's.

H&H for meat and 3. Downtown Grill for a great steak and cigar. The Rookery for a good craft beer and damn good burgers. Nu-Way Wieners for a hot dog.

Meat & 3:
H&H? Depends on the staff that day.
Bear's Den is first choice for Meat & 3, Jeneane's Cafe downtown (lunch), Jeneane's at Pinebrook (supper) and Joy's Home Cooking Buffet are close seconds. If you feel adventurous try Cox Cafe for lunch @ 694 Lower Poplar Street (great food, horrible location). I don't like Buckner's, ick.

BBQ:
Fincher's on Gray Highway for BBQ (wet) and old fashioned hamburger and fries (potato salad is good too), order a side of Brunswick stew (you'll thank me), JL's is rubbish, stay away.
For lunch if you can get downtown try Satterfield's. It's pretty good and right off Riverside on New Street. (use the Spring Street Bridge exit off I-16 just after the I-75/I-16 interchange).
Georgia Bob's - terrible service but best smoked chicken salad I've ever eaten.

Whatever you do, watch out for Macon drivers. I've seen maneuvers here that I've never seen anywhere else in the United States. Over the past 33 years I've lived in Greenville, Columbia and Charleston, Charlotte, Asheville, Cincinnati, San Francisco and Chicago. I thought Chicago was the worst until I came back to Macon. There is a certain...hmmm...entitlement attitude here that seems to make people think that they can do whatever the hell they want to do when it comes to driving a car.

Try the smokin pig at the Macon mall on Eisenhower. Reasonable pricing and good food

If you do, order the smoked pork chops (comes with 2) dinner. It's about the best thing on the menu. Don't order the chopped "Carolina" BBQ.
Pulled pork is good too. Steaks are really good. The chili is very good indeed. Brunswick stew is passable.

If you're interested in some seafood, Kudzu Seafood in Macon is terrific...small, quaint, relaxed atmosphere. Their Blue-Cheese cole slaw and Jambalaya Hush Puppies are excellent!

Little Piggy Bar-b -q beside GPSTC is good. I usually just go to Macon. I like the Wild Wing down there.

I've spent a LOT of time at GPSTC. This answer is the best for BBQ if you don't want to drive.
Otherwise, Macon is 25 minutes away and has all the typical chain restaurants and such.
