72,000 members is the amount of members signed up since this forum started. If the admin would delete all non active members that have not logged in in the past 12 months, I bet that number would be more like 2000 active members
they will log in on GIVEAWAY Day gar un tee

Most forums are like that but I've been pretty good about keeping our database clear of too much junk. You say 2,000 in the last 12 months, how's 4,000 in the last day?

I think I may try a setup similar to this and if it bombs hard I can pull the plug after 7 days:

Supporters - Nothing changes.
Non-Supporters - 1 free classifieds listing every 30 days. No relists. For $1 you can post the maximum number of listings every day for a month. Get access for a year for $10.

There would be multiple options to pay, including anonymous ones.

It seems like adding the 1 free listing a month would satisfy a lot of concerns.

I will become a supporter. I have seen other sites stipulate you can't post anything unless you join.
I think everyone should now be a supporter before being allowed to post or comment.

My "WISH" is that there would be a firearms (all types) i.e. (ALL FIREARMS FOR SALE) under the
"What's New 10 pages" for buyers to see only the firearms for sale. I think the sale items I'm
referring to go through the system so fast that a lot buyers that don't live here all day never see them. I mean when all the normal extraneous threads get bumped 86 zillion times because folks feel compelled to add their thoughts to all the threads about (any other topic beyond Firearms for sale), the sales ads or postings get driven out too quickly. The result is that the "firearms for sale" need to be relisted to get exposure. I'm certainly not against all the topics or areas where people want to discuss, or tell jokes. or rant. etc.. I merely suggest that they not compete with (firearms for sale). i.e. I read all the mail also. I just would like the misc. conversations in a separate "What's New Misc. Threads" option, to not compete with "firearms for sale" space. I am aware that I can look in sub forums for (rifles, or pistols, or shotguns, or etc.) I hope I'm being clear about wanting to have an option of "What's New--All firearms" to allow persons browsing to see things that they don't know they need, to stay in view on the 10 allotted pages for more than 2 or 3 hours. I guess it could be a (What's New All For Sale"
i.e. any item. Anything other than the conversations, rants, and other very dead horse out to pasture items that put (for sale items) on the fast track to oblivion in short order. Hey, it's fine to keep beating dead horses, just do it in a different lane of traffic please.
I currently desire to sell all my worldly possessions because of failing health. Anyone reading this is welcome to assist me in this endeavor by simply sending me a PM if I have mis-priced any item or better yet make a reasonable offer. I am selling items that mostly have been owned by me for several years. I include this paragraph of explanation for the sole purpose of curtailing anyone's erroneous thoughts that I only petition for the sale only category for my benefit. Not at all. It is for the benefit of anyone wanting to sell an item.
If I have not been clear enough or caused any ruffled feathers by my thought presented here, please PM with any
concerns you may have. I welcome all PMs and rest assured I will not be offended.
I'll stop now and just realized I am too tired to proof read this post. If I've made any serious errors, I hope you will over look them this time.
Thanks,

Never done that either...guess I'm too old school
It's not too late, I just signed up for paypal last week and took my first uber taxi rides Wednesday. Also made my first Ebay purchase. I am finally moving into the 20th century. Still 100 years behind, but gotta start somewhere, right?

So better is to let members post to say, in their opinion, the item is overpriced? I think that would be a no go for a lot of people here and they would just leave. Plus you'd have a harder time getting new members to stay. I just don't see how allowing price comments improves the site, generates more members and thus more revenue.

Discouraging price gouging and crazy postings would make it better. I would rather have quality over quantity.

Their property, their price. Nobody is holding a gun to someone's head and forcing them to buy.

I would like to see those with 4+ negs banned for life.

Rather than pay a dollar to list an add, I would just go back to exclusively listing any thing I had to sell on other forums that I still utilize from time to time. It will cost me more that $1 for sure to ship, but I’ll feel a whole lot better about it in the end.

I can't imagine having the nerve to call out someone's pricing. None of my business how much somebody asks for their stuff. Either they'll figger it out or be doomed to keep running it out there like some I've seen over and over, same chit, same price since i've been on the site (and I was a lurker for about a year before I "jined up"). How hard is it to ignore overpriced items?
