I feel like it will hurt some to charge but not to bad. If you do charge make sure everyone knows they can pay with PayPal. In contrast I would say encourage more supporters make a goal if we get x supporters we will go ad free. Give supporters discounted paid ads. Maybe a dollar instead of 3 . At the same time I like seeing some of the ads. Maybe I am the only one

I think JHW makes some good points but i would be concerned that you would have a lot of people making more accounts for three free posts than paying a minimal fee.

What if an overzealous supersensitive Liberal Mod bans a member for 2 or 3 months, without an explanation just smartass provocative replies or threats, will the member get adjusted time for their payment?

Almost 700 votes. How many active members? Low voter turnout? But those will be most vocal if it doesn’t go their way.

This the real concern I have. We have 4,000 users day that sign in and less than 25% of them voted.
