I would be less disinclined to pay for this site if I didn't see something that sends a shiver up my spine anytime I see it. And I see it here:

"You can register using your Google, Facebook, or Twitter account, just click here."

I do everything I can to not support liberal organizations with an anti-gun agenda, which all three of those have. Using modern technology, it is impossible to entirely avoid Google. Especially with any kind of smartphone. But it is very easy to not use Gmail, or Google as a search engine. And extremely easy to not have a Facebook or Twitter account.

I realize the owner of this site may get some kind of "kickback" from having users link going to this site through one of the three very evil abominations, so I kind of understand him having that. But I do not willingly and knowingly support the enemy by giving them quarter.

And if I ever see any kind of clue that this site mines our personal data and sells it, then I would never, ever log in here again. That is why I mentioned that same fact, if I learn that this site is ever sold to Carbon Media, Carbon Media's owner, or any company like that. Because I avoid anything that tries to crawl up my ass.

Ha, there is no kickback from any of those companies. That's only there for convenience, and pretty much all modern sites that require a login have that as a feature nowadays as a convenience. It's a technology called OAuth, which simplifies the sharing of some resources across sites that you have profiles on. If you don't use (or support) those companies, then obviously it's not meant for you. You can safely ignore it and avoid the spine shivers. :thumb:

They still run CPC,CPA, CPV ad campaigns through the site. Or ODT sells their traffic, makes money and the companies purchase/convert that traffic to make money by sending traffic to their affiliates/customers. ODT started off the same way Facebook did. With no ads. Then, once the realization of lost revenue kicked in, we had ads. In essence, to believe there isn’t money being made, is silly.

I would like to see a one dollar per item charge for ads and relistings. Would eliminate the perma-ads and lead to more relistic pricing. Would help eliminate the CL type listings.

Do we really need ads for used gunz at 300 bucks when new ones are 180 at walmart,?

That really implies we are the felon-mart of firearms .
