polymer AR lower

The question is why would you with pricing for lowers back down to where it is? For example. the PSA blem/LPK combo they run all the time for $99 is less than a NFA lower and a seperate LPK. To each their own.

Once again, we find ourselves in perfect agreement! ;-) There's just no advantage to a polymer lower. The price difference is basically a few boxes of ammunition. What you give up in long term durability just isn't worth the few bucks it will save you.

These are not "Builds". They are Bushmaster, that explains it...

Is forged better, in most cases yes... Are all poly bad, no...
Do you seriously think there is a quantifiable difference between polymer lowers? One of those didn't even survive shipping. One bad fall in the woods and that polymer lower is likely toast. And don't even think about mortaring it if you get a stuck case. Sooner or later, the polymer will give up the ghost and it will be long before a forged lower would even come close to breaking. Is it really worth saving less than a hundred bucks to have what is essentially a disposable lower receiver?

lol...I used to carry around a big fat magic marker in my inside jacket pocket. It was my beta capsule. When I was in second grade, I actually tried to use it when a couple of 4th graders ganged up and were about to kick my ass. They took pity on me...or could no longer fight from laughing when I held it up and made the chwewewewewewew noise lol....hmmm speaking of...a few years ago, a friend got me a science patrol set with communicator, beta capsule and..I think a badge or something. I don't remember. It's boxed up somewhere in the basement for when I finish my mancave. YES! I have a real beta capsule now. I wonder if those punks want to take me on now! I'll see what I can do about getting you the discs. I might have a way where you don't have to return them...

I watched some videos on the new frontier poly lower it seems like a tough lower, but I don't like reviews from manufactures...for obvious reasons. They were selling complete 100% lowers for 114.00 personally. I like my alloy. I tend to run it hard and to me poly doesn't belong on a rifle but id be open to checking one out, before owning one of course.

I look at them the same way I do a Remington 710 or 770. I'd buy one for half of wholesale value so I know I could sell it quickly and make a few bucks for getting my hands dirty.

400 dollar upper, 70 dollar stock, 10 dollar Pmag, 20 dollar pistol grip. The lower, the magwell grip and the NC Star scope, I wouldn't give a nickel for. So what could be a 600-700 dollar rifle is only worth about 500 due to the hassle of having to switch out the lower. 30 bucks of savings isn't worth 100-200 loss in value IMO.
Actually out the door these were about $480 summer of 2012 from a good guy on here. I dont like them and wouldnt own them, but for what they cost then that wasnt a bad deal for a plinker. They would still sell for that on here. To each their own.
