What temp are you smoking that it takes 4 hours and what size?You can de-bone or buy boneless and make sliced. Smoke for about 4 hours and then chill. Slice it really thin on a slicer. It's some good eating.

9lbs takes me 10-12hrs depending on meat cut at 225. I wrap at 165 if doing a wrap, and pull at 205..
Smoke at 250. It's fully cooked but won't pull apart. You have to slice it thin. Having it fully chilled makes it pretty easy if you have a slicer.
