I talked with him and he is going to have his aortic valve replaced in the next few days and he hopes to be out of the hospital in a week or so.

Ouch... sounds serious, but modern technology has made many procedures almost commonplace.
We'll be sending extra prayers for a successful surgery and quick recovery for the ODT's pet curmudgeon.
