Turned out the old guy has cancer and it has spread. First day of Chemo Thursday at 7am.
He is having a tough time swallowing it is on his esophagus and it has spread.
Been a tough year for him, mom passed end of last year and he has been deeply troubled.
Prayer for his release from pain and broken heart.

I think it may be his only option if he wants to swallow food it is localized to the tumet and I am learning as I go. He is 87 and I hope this is the right choice.

Feel free to reach out to me if I can help explain anything, unsure what you mean by tumet. In your initial post you said spread, so I assume that it has metastasized, obviously concerning. His age and if the cancer has spread may limit surgical intervention, There are great chemo drugs but they obviously come with huge risks and potential complications.

If he starts Chemo this week they must have identified the type of cancer, IE Squamous cell, etc....
