Presidential Alerts

not saying i dont believe you but i couldnt find it. its not with the amber alert and emergency alert toggles

Yeah, all the iPhones ive checked here at work just say the amber and emergency, but since you cant opt out of it, i guess they just dont give you the option of even seeing it. I really dont know why they would even show it on the androids if we cant uncheck it. Ive even entered mine into Dev mode and still nothing.

Vz Razor M. Yep, it has the Presidential alert, and it is grayed out (says Mandatory Alert), so no way to deselect it.
I guess when the martial law is declared it will give PTB a way to tell us what to do.
Well Verizon IS in bed with the Obama Administration - not surprised.

BTW nothing on my stock Android LG Google Nexus 4 :)

And here is a link on how do disable them on a Verizon Galaxy S III (as long as your phone is rooted)

Without reading the rest of the thread, all communications companies (radio, cable, mobile) are required to implement this. Presidential alerts have never been issued (another Pearl Harbor, at least, would be required). Even 9/11 didn't warrant one. These are also called national alerts, and FCC mandates them. The other ones (amber, weather, etc.) are local alerts, and you've been getting these for a long time on your TV. Now, all broadcasts have to have them. Trust me, if you ever get a message from Obama, you will have bigger problems to deal with than listening to him. How do I know? Well, it's my job to deal with these implementations.
